Apprenticeship event offers engineering opportunities for local young people

South Essex College is holding an Engineering Apprenticeship event for school leavers interested in following this educational route.

The event at the college’s Luckyn Lane campus in Basildon will be on Wednesday 6 July from 9.30am-12.30pm.

The college has a number of apprenticeship vacancies available with companies such as Pura Foods, Gardeners Aerospace and CNH industrial.

An apprenticeship offers the chance to earn while learning, with many of the employers the college works with providing fantastic long term career opportunities. They are looking for enthusiastic, motivated young people to join their apprenticeship programmes.

Helen Sharpe, Workforce Head of Apprenticeships, said: “We have created this event for school leavers who might be considering an apprenticeship but would really like to know more about the training route. The event will give young people detailed insight on what it’s like to be an apprentice.

“Visitors will be able to take part in practical engineering activities and even apply for live vacancies on the day, supported by the college’s talented and helpful team.”
