BBC Essex Visits College To Talk Science!

Science students and teachers at Southend City College were visited by Rob Jelly from BBC Essex who is making a mini-series to encourage more people to get into science.

Students from applied science and forensics represented the college and science. Rob asked them what sparked their interest in science, cool facts they wanted to share with the listeners, what they think other people’s perception of science is and how science can be made accessible to more people of all ages.

Tutor, Fiona Watson said: “The learners were excellent ambassadors for science and for the college. They were eloquent, passionate and brought their characteristic humour to the event. We are hoping to build on the partnership with Rob for future events.”

Rob Jelly added: “You have a great thing happening in Southend and I’m excited for our collective future if we have these bright youngsters wanting to get into science.”
