Hello my name is Sam Ross, I am 21, I studied Fashion Promotion at South Essex College from 2010-2012 and this is my story.
I left South Essex College with a distinction star.
South Essex College gave me the level of knowledge and experience to set a foundation for my chosen career path. My studies at the College allowed me to get into Central Saint Martins and has changed my life beyond imagination. My qualification has given me access to the top end of the fashion world. Over the last couple of years I have been offered the chance to acquire a wide range of skills and have had the chance to work with world-renown names in fashion. I am currently on a year out from Central Saint Martins and I am working for Mario Testino.
Mario Testino OBE is a Peruvian fashion photographer. His work has been featured in magazines such as Vogue and Vanity Fair. In 1997 he was chosen by Princess Diana to photograph her for Vanity Fair.
I am based in London and assist with the day-to-day running of the company. I am also in the process of building an online brand of clothing. I will return to complete my dissertation at Central Saint Martins later this year.
South Essex College was the start of this journey and I would say that it is what you put in really that matters. Passion and commitment are the things you need.
