Student helps raise funds for hospice

A South Essex College student helped raise more than £100 for charity at the weekend.

Chloe Hale, who studies on the Supported Internship Programme at Basildon Campus, donned St Luke’s Hospice’s mascot outfit to greet visitors to its Christmas Fair.

Dressed as Luke the Labrador, Chloe collected £119.88 in donations from visitors and many stopped for a festive photo.

Tutor Stuart Gibbs said: “Chloe was very proactive and jumped at the chance to help out as the mascot when asked, she is a credit to the College and her enthusiasm resulted in helping raise more than £100 towards vital funds for the hospice.”
