Portugal break gears Golf Academy students up for Intercollegiate Tour

Golf Academy students at South Essex College recently enjoyed a warm-weather training break at the Pestana Golf Resort in the Algarve, Portugal.

The group took advantage of the good weather to put their skills to the test on the challenging course.

Student George Davies said: “It was brilliant to play a different golf course in a different country, the whole experience was great.”

Training events such as this help the students prepare for the tournaments they are involved with and recently the group travelled to Winchester for the second round of the Intercollegiate Tour (ICT) to play against six other golf colleges in the South of England.

After a brilliant third place finish in round one, the group won the second round by 10 shots. The College is now second in the league table with one more round to go, which takes place on 27 March.
