The College is committed to attracting and retaining an effective, committed and flexible workforce and to supporting and
developing staff to achieve their full potential. We were the first general further education college to be recognised as an
Investor in People in 1992 and continue to exceed the baseline standards for the award. The Human Resources Strategy and the
Staff Development Strategy are informed by the College Strategic Plan. Implementation of the Staff Development Strategy
is overseen by the Staff Development Steering Group.
Aims
To provide a well-qualified, flexible workforce that is effective and efficient by:

- operating a communications strategy that ensures that staff are informed about and have a shared understanding of
the current issues that impact upon the College
- providing a working environment that recognises the importance of staff to the core business of the College and
provides for their well being
- ensuring that staff act as professional role models for learners and work in accordance with the College ethos and culture.
