Introduction
With the 2012 Olympics fast approaching and the Olympic Village now taking shape
just down the road in Stratford, South Essex College is proud to be part of the
Cultural Olympiad and will be hosting various events throughout the build up,
celebrating cultures, people and language.
In anticipation of the big event and to highlight our commitment to sports provision
and personal development, South Essex College has also revamped and redeveloped its
sports pages on our website, offering a wide range of resources such as:
- The latest news about College sports and teams
- Match results, news and reviews
- Team photos, match shots and more in the gallery
- The all-new Student Focus: find out about the players
- Tournament and event info
- Forms and documents related to the sports teams
- Line-up and match details for each team
The College has many sporting teams which take part in events and tournaments and
we offer comprehensive sports facilities. At Basildon Campus we have 5-a-side football,
basketball, netball, badminton and squash courts, as well as a multi-gym.
In Southend we have Wellstead Gardens, the College’s own sports facility offering
training for our sports studies students on the great quality pitches that we maintain
there. Our Southend Campus also houses our Sports Lab where we conduct fitness testing
and training.
We also work with Southend United Football Club to offer Football Academy branded
education and training.
