1. Choose your course
Take a good look at the courses on offer and find the right one for you. Remember
to check which qualifications are required for your chosen course. Before you make
your decision, why not come along to one of our open days and discuss all the options
with one of the College’s Student Support Advisers? Also talk to a Careers Adviser,
teacher or your parents.
2. Complete the application form
We have an online application form on the website
so that you can submit your form directly to us but you can also complete the form
in the back of a College prospectus and post it to us if you prefer (no stamp required).
Completed forms should be sent to:
Admissions,
South Essex College,
Freepost SMU 110,
Southend-on-Sea,
Essex,
SS2 5BR.
If you need additional application forms please call us on 01702 220400.
You don’t need your GCSE results in order to apply, so complete the
online application form or send in your form as soon as you like.
3. Come for your interview at the College
You will be invited to an interview with a tutor from the teaching faculty running
your chosen course. This is a great chance to find out why you want to do the course
and what your plans are after studying with us. If possible, please bring your Record
of Achievement with you to your interview.
Along with your qualifications, your interview may be the deciding factor as to
whether you are offered a place on the course. Therefore, it’s important that you
are able to demonstrate a commitment to the course and an interest in the subject
you have chosen to study.
4. You will receive your offer
Enrolment takes place soon after the GCSE results are published. Even if you don’t
receive the results you expected, you can still come along to the College as we
will be able to provide you with advice and guidance, and may be able to find you
a suitable course and the chance to re-sit some of your GCSEs.
REMEMBER!
Apply as soon as possible.
You don’t need your examination results to apply so it’s best to apply as soon as
possible as there are limited places on some courses.
