The Training Quality Standard

In February 2010 the newly merged South Essex College gained accreditation for the Training Quality Standard Part A through the work of its Business Development Team. This was a major achievement by the Business Development Team. The Training Quality Standard is a hard won award which in this case was in recognition of the commitment of Business Development Staff to working with employers across Essex to help them successfully achieve a positive impact on their businesses through staff development and training.

"The College responds flexibly to the needs of employers and Provides good value for money"

"Success rates for NVQs are consistently higher than the national average"

"Partnership working is outstanding"

"Employer engagement is excellent"

Training benefits to employers

Training benefits your business in many ways; it boosts competitiveness, productivity and staff motivation and reduces your recruitment costs.

Training gives your employees the skills and awareness to do their jobs effectively, and the initiative and ambition to drive your business forward.

"Training and development is important to both employers and employees. Gaining qualifications and new skills directly impacts on an organisations productivity and reputation. It is also important for a happy workforce as it demonstrates a strong commitment to their company rather than taking their skills elsewhere. It really makes everyone feel valued and leads to a real positive knock-on effect to the rest of the company."
