Apprenticeships for Adults

Apprenticeships aren’t just for young people, no matter if you’re 16 or 60, if you’re looking to change careers or if you want to improve the career you are already in, an Apprenticeship can give you the skills and confidence to achieve your aims!

If you’re employed or if you’re actively seeking employment, an Apprenticeship can be an ideal training route that will improve your skills whilst ensuring that you get paid and receive a nationally-recognised qualification. Unlike some other education options that require you to attend College full-time, because Apprenticeship are geared towards those who are employed or who are seeking employment, you will not have to give up work to get your qualification.

Employers and Apprenticeships

Employers value Apprenticeship training because it provides a way for the experience and skills of their employees to be recognised and improves both staff motivation and job satisfaction. Click the link for more information about the benefits of Apprenticeships for employers.

Apprenticeships for current employees

With the growing prestige of Apprenticeships, your employer may decide to put you forward for an Apprenticeship as part of their professional development programme; but even if they don’t you can still put yourself forward for one with the support of your employer. This is a really good way to show your employer that you are ready to take on more responsibility and enhance your job performance and your prospects for promotion and career development.

Apprenticeships for the unemployed

Whilst you need to be employed in order to do an Apprenticeship, if you are currently seeking work we can assist you in finding a suitable Apprenticeship placement through our links with employers.

For more specific information about our Apprenticeship courses, call us on 0845 52 12345 and asked to speak with the Business Development Team (or via email at: business@southessex.ac.uk).

You can also see what companies are currently recruiting Apprentices by registering with the Apprenticeship Vacancy Matching Service and searching for vacancies in the Essex area.

Apprenticeships are a cost-effective option!

While the Government fully funds the costs of Apprenticeship training for 16-18 year olds, funding is also available for those aged 19 years old who wish to pursue an Apprenticeship, dependent on individual circumstances. For more information, contact us on 0845 52 12345 (or via email at: business@southessex.ac.uk) and ask to speak to the Business Development Team.

Apprenticeships cost a lot less than some other education options, which means you can get the skills you need to succeed without having to borrow a lot of money. As Apprenticeships are equivalent to a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, they can also offer an alternative route to gaining a degree.
