Personal care services are generally provided in partnership with SPDNS, a well established local nursing agency. Carers also provide learning support services during lessons.

Child Protection / Vulnerable Adults

The College is committed to keeping you safe. If an allegation is made, or there is a suspicion, that you or a child, young person or vulnerable adult known to you is at risk of harm, then we have measures in place to help.

If you are worried that a young person or vulnerable adult may need help, or if you are in need of help yourself, you should ask to speak directly and in person to one of our Designated Child Protection Officers, who can offer advice, support and may refer to relevant agencies for their help.

Designated Staff Members who can help with child protection/vulnerable adult issues are based in Learner Support Services on the Ground Floor at Luker Road.

Please understand that although we offer a discreet and professional service, we can’t promise to keep the information you share with us confidential and may have to discuss the things you tell us with other appropriate people and agencies, but where this is the case we will do our best to involve you in the process.

Counselling

We offer a confidential counselling service for students to talk through any issues that are concerning you. Our trained Counsellor also works with specialist agencies such as CRUSE and Relate, and where appropriate will be able to refer you to other organisations that can more fully meet your needs.
