Ultra-modern new buildings

South Essex College of Further & Higher Education is growing to provide better opportunities for local people. Three new builds are planned across Southend, Thurrock and Basildon.

The Forum Southend-on-Sea (September 2013)

Set to open in September 2013, The Forum Southend-on-Sea is a £27 million education centre and library being built in partnership with Southend Borough Council the University of Essex and South Essex College. Read more >

New campus in Grays, Thurrock (September 2014)

The second new build, the new Thurrock Campus in Grays, has been granted planning permission and is set to be open to students in September 2014. As well as providing new facilities and courses for local people it is anticipated that the £45 million College will be a key economic driver for the local economy and its local businesses. New campus in Basildon (Due 2015)

The third new build is still in the early planning stages but will see Basildon benefit from a new town centre college campus that will provide the very best facilities and new courses for local people. This new campus is scheduled to open in 2015. Read more >  

All the new builds are planned to a high environmental standard with good transport links and facilities that will be open to the public.   Our aim is to continue to provide our wide range of existing courses. We are also planning to expand courses within our existing industries in addition to developing courses for new industries and technologies that will lead to greater employment prospects, benefiting both local people and businesses.
